Facilities in AJC

Last year when SAT was held in AJC, I went there to meet with my friends coming for SAT. That was the first time I heard about AJC. At that time, I was impressed by the large sports field of the college. After the JXP, the facilities there really impressed me.
Compared with most senior schools in China, AJC has relatively much better facilities. Not only is there a sports field, but it is also equipped with basketball fields, squash rooms and volleyball fields. Most impressively, there is also a gym, which is almost unimaginable for Chinese schools. I think the students can really get different sports using the facility.

one-week life in AJC

Last week we went to the AJC to have our junior college experiential program. Although I have to get up before 6 a.m in this week, I was looking forward it with a little nervous feeling, for I didn't know what a guy would be my buddy and how the life in JC would be.
We got a warm welcome from AJC's teachers and students, and to our surprise, in order to show their sincerity, AJC's teacher gave our chance to choose our own buddy in a order decided by drawing lots. My buddy is a shy boy ,called Bryan. And I was assigned to a class which has another 2 scholars, which means we have 3 buddies in total. They are all very kind guys and really took care of us.
In this week, we followed our buddies to experience their high school life we called, and I found it is very different from the life in China. Firstly, their works are not as easy as I heard before, even harder than what we learned in China; and their school time is much shorter than ours in China; lastly, they pay much attention to students' physical quality, so their PE class is really a big challenge.
Anyhow, this week I got a lot, and really had a good time. I hope the friends I made in this week can be kept in touch in future to remind me this period of wonderful time.

A pity

With time going fast, we have spent almost a week in AJC. It is the time to say goodbye. Actually, we scholars made good relationship with buddies. Last day, I had classes seriously with classmates and tried to treasure the time with them. To my surprised, not only my buddy also his classmates gave great gifts to me. I was really moved and not willing to leave them. Even I thought it was too short in AJC to go on well with them. But fortunately, I experienced this wonderful memory which I regarded as my wealth for my life.

Enjoy the life in AJC

During the weekday in AJC, I learnt much benefits for me. I respected not only the students who were eager for the knowledge, also their positive attitude to the life. Especially in PE class, they always toughed it out even it is really hard to complete the training.I also had lunch together with my buddy and his classmates with joy. It is worthy for me to treasure the period in AJC. In conclusion, I enjoyed the life in AJC.

First day in AJC

I still remember what occurred first day. We chose our own buddies after doing games so that we may know each other well. It's lucky for me to choose my buddy who is a pretty kind and handsome person. With his introduction, I also made good friends with his classmates. Though I felt tired first, I really enjoy the process to get along with others.

My last day in AJC

[I wrote this article on Friday, but didn't post on the blog]

Today is my last day in AJC.
Today is my last time to see the moon in the morning.

Today is my last chance to have classes with my buddy.

We had farewell lunch today, we felt the stress in the hall, we said some words to our buddies, we also give our handmade gifts to our buddies.

It's the gift I gave my buddy----Xinyi.
After school, we first went to the border of Malaysia and Singapore near Woodlands. The landscape was soooooo beautiful. At night we had dinner near AJC.It was really memorable.
In the letter my buddy gave me, she said, ‘下星期不跟你一起上课,我想会觉得很怪吧。’So will I. I just get used to this week, and really don't want to leave.

EXPERIENCE WITH MY BUDDY

It is an original way that we can choose buddis by ourselves. I really like my buddy Khee Hoon that I have choosen. We have many common topics and she helped me a lot. She is an art student that I can experience art students' life. There are 18 students in that class but only one of them is male. (Actually that only gentleman has been absent for the whole week.) With my buddy's help, I can quickly get along with her classmates. All her classmates welcomed me.  During the break time, she bought something for me to eat in case that I would be hungry . She also helped me to pass through the PE class. Her friends ran along with me to encourage me. I feel more at home in that class. Thanks for this JXP programme. Finally, thank you Khee Hoon indeed.

experience in AJC

There are many differences between AJC and my high school in China. AJC students are more free than those in China. I have had so much pleasure in AJC. For example, there is a special class in AJC that other JCs may not have. It is called "sex education". In that class teacher told us about the difference between puppy love and true love. I was surprised about that. In addition in the GP class, the thacher of my buddy's class is quite kind and enthusiastic. Actually GP is quite similar to our AE class . We were taught about some political issues and stratagies to write essay. Literature class is very interesting and meaningful. I have learned some similar words that is repress, supress and oppress. On the whole, classes in AJC made me enjoyable.

To my buddies

How time flies. Five days with you has gone. I can till remember what we did last week, even if I am in NTU now. I am so lucky because I met you guys. Last week we spent together seems not to be a week but some time longer than that. We experienced more than school life. THANK YOU. All the best.

my ajc journey

our ajc experience journey finally ended last weekend. I found I really enjoyed myself this week.
firstly I want to say a big thank you to all the buddies, teachers, and scholars. All you together make this activity so colorful.
secondly I want to talk something about my maths class during jxp.actually I dislike maths, because I am not good at it.but having maths class in ajc let me find its interest. The humor and cute teacher always make the class active, as well as pay more attention to all students own work instead of just go through problems. I think this kind of teaching method is wonderful.
at last, I just want to say that though jxp ended, our friendship will last forever.
thank you for this wonderful experience0w0~

Chen Zhang's JC journal 3

This is my last jounral about this week's JC experience. This program is extraordinarily amazing that we are able to experience a totally different high school life.  In the last day, we also took the chance to visit woodlands park with my buddy and had a wonderful farewell dinner.
In the end,  i would like to write the conclusion of this week's program: Wonderful time never fades away, it just turns into valuable memory preserved in everyone's mind. Departure never becomes the end of the friendship , it is just the beginning of a brand new journey.

Last day at AJC

Yesterday was our last at AJC. Throughout the one-week time, we all built friendships with our buddies as well as their classmates, and it is really hard to say goodbye. We got better understandings of each other, AJC and the Singapore educational system.I would really like to say thank you to all the buddies, teachers (espeicially Ms Ang and Ms Aw), the Planning Committee (Yu Lan, Jia Yi and Trang) as well as all the AJCians. Without you guys, this week wouldn't have been so perfect as it is!

After the gift exchanging session, we went to the podium to witness the release of A-level results. The A-level exam is similar to the Collage Entrance Exam in China, so the students and parents were all anxious to see the results.I just wish that all the students can get their expected results go to their dream university for further studies.

Finally, thank you to the buddies. I hope to see some of you in NTU next year, if so, we can get to be the host and show you guys around our campus!

last class in JC

this is the photo of the farewell party for us from class 15.
i ve share a great week with you all and wish you all the best!

bio experiment !

yesterday we had an bio experiment with my buddies.
we did an experiment to find out the crime by the DNA fingerprinting tech,
which i ve learnt but never conducted.
thank you everybody!

The last one

Thanks o JXP and AJC, I can widen my the field of my eyes. I guess we all have learnt something new and valuable. If u don't make new friends and try to get along with a new type of life, u will be locked in ur chest forever ad can never have a taste of the fun in life. This new experience gave me not only a group of good buddies, but also a look into Sinaporean students and Singapore's education. Hope to visit this lovely place again.

Thanks for all your KINDNESS~

During the five-day programme, I made a lot of Singaporean and Chinese friends. They are all friendly and kind to me. We met every morning, had lunch together, talking about RM and K-Pop and having lessons together. I guess it is not only because of the common interest we have that we had fun playing together, but also the outgoing and responsible personality my buddy has got. I can always feel the happy atmophere when you gals and I are together. Thanks for your company! The end of this programme is not the end of our friendship.

There's one gal short in the picture...
Smiling Weiyi, Lovely Jingyi, Gorgeous Angelin and Quiet Huixian, I will never forget u. We are a happy group of five.
This Friday our class had a PE lesson. First of all, I was eager to how Singaporean students exercised in their PE. However, after hearing the direction given by the teacher, I regretd expecting this PE class. They were told to jump over several rods first and then lift a heavy ball for a least 15 times! It is not the all. After that, they were going to pass the ball around a pair and do further strong exercise. Although it was so tired and hot that sweats wet my shirt, I still felt excited and satisfied. That's because the PE teacher asked me about my feelings and my considerate buddy kept giving me encouragement. During this class, I kind of fell in love with this lovely place and people here.

A DRAWING FOR AJC

THANK YOU AJC~!~\(≧▽≦)/~
i felt sorry that i do not have enough time to complete this drawing(T.T)

Goodbye AJC~~

Some thoughts of this week
Today is my last day in AJC.

I had an intresting week in AJC with my buddy and other friends. During this time, I had some thoughts.

The first one is that students in Singapore also study very hard. Knowledge they learn is not as simple as what we thought before. My buddy once told me that they always study until 1am or 2am, and they have to get up early in the morning to go to school. Also, something they learn is beyond my knowledge.I think I should work hard.

Secondly, CCAs provide students in AJC a colorful and intresting campus. I am sure that students can learn a lot when they participate in their CCAs. And the knowledge they learn from CCAs can not be learnt in classroom or from textbooks.

Thirdly, I think PE classes in AJC are different from what we have in China. What the have are all tough things. I like such kind of PE classes!

Also, I think students in AJC are all very kind and warm-hearted. I made a lot of new friends in the first day and I can make new friends everyday.

At last, food in AJC is good!

I would like to say "thank you" to MOE, to AJC, to my buddy, to my colleagues. I will always remeber this experience. It has already become part of my memory of my youth.

Friendship will never come to the end

Sylvia Ong Xueting, Chan Joshule, Wayne, Miao Lingyu, Cai Dingkun and Ding Jiatao.
We six really really had a  fantastic week.
Never better.
I will treasure those memories forever.
AJC!

Something I thought of during the week

During JC immersion the week,I noticed that the education system is very different from that in China. For example, the size of Class is smaller that that in China. Tutorials and lectures combine with each other to enhance learning for students. PE lessons are compulsory and tiring. I think this experience did enrich my view.

On the other hand, I found that local students study hard and play hard. They do not cut their CCA time or play time to study even if they have a lot of homework to do. I really appreciate this!

The last day

Today is the last day of JXP program. I felt very upset to say goodbye to my buddy and new friends. Now, I just want to say thanks to Sylvia, Joshuel and Wayne for their kindness and friendliness. I think I will often contact them in the future. I am looking forward our trip next weekend!
